The 2-way full range TQ14M is a switchable passive/bi-amp 1,920 Watt 14" loudspeaker system that is ideally suited for all professional stage monitor reinforcement applications. The TQ14M is designed to work in conjunction with Lab Gruppen PLM+ and IPX amplification and TQ14M provides optimal performance for stage monitoring.

Custom-Engineered Drivers and Waveguides

Turbosound is recognised the world over for designing and building some of the most iconic loudspeakers and subwoofers. We take meticulous care and pride in maintaining that reputation by utilising only drivers designed specifically for each application – it’s what sets us apart from the competition. The TQ14M loudspeaker features an FEM optimized common motor 14" neodymium low frequency driver as well as a titanium and polyimide dome 1.4" exit, 3” voice coil neodymium high frequency compression driver, which is mounted on a 40° horizontal by 60° vertical dispersion low Aluminium zero ring custom horn. This also acts as a heatsink from the motor assembly reducing power compression insuring consistent performance over extended durations.

Plywood Construction

Finished in a highly durable semi matt PU black paint, the cabinet is constructed from 12 and 15 mm (½" and 5/8") plywood. It includes a rugged powder coated cloth wrapped perforated steel mesh grille. The TQ14M includes a convenient pole mount socket for use with 35 mm poles/speaker stands to optimise coverage and side handles for easy transport. The side panels carry two industry-standard twist-locking speaker connectors for input and link connections to additional enclosures, a high-power recessed toggle switch allows switching between passive and bi-amp modes. TQ14M’s low profile design provides improved audience line of sight for seamless integration into any stage application.

Architecture and Engineering Specifications

The loudspeaker shall be of the two-way bi-amp switchable passive type consisting of one common motor co-axial 14" (340 mm) LF driver and one 1.4" (36 mm) exit HF compression driver (3”/72mm Voice Coil). Performance specifications of a typical production unit shall meet or exceed the following: frequency response, measured with swept sine wave input, shall be flat within ±3 dB from 60 Hz to18 kHz and within -10 dB from 55 Hz to 20 kHz. Nominal dispersion, at -6 dB points, shall average 40° H x 60° V. Nominal impedance shall be bi-amp mode: HF: 8 Ohms, LF: 8 Ohms & passive mode 8 Ohms. Power handling shall be HF: 80 Watts continuous, 320 Watts peak, LF: 400 Watts continuous, 1600 Watts peak. Sensitivity, measured on axis, mean averaged over the stated bandwidth, shall be HF: 106 dB, 1 Watt @ 1 metre, LF: 99dB, 1 Watt @ 1 metre. Maximum SPL of 138dB in Bi-Amp mode or 137 dB in passive mode (Average Peak level over overlap bandwidth. SPL level at 1 m under free field conditions, using pink noise with crest factor 4, with dedicated pre-set. Dimensions: 339mm high x 530mm wide x 563 mm deep (14.13 x 20.86 x 22.16"). Net weight: 20.5kg (45.2 lbs). The loudspeaker system shall be the Turbosound TQ14M.

No other loudspeaker shall be acceptable unless submitted data from an independent test laboratory verifies that the above combined performance/size specifications are equalled or exceeded.
