If there is a single piece of analogue processing equipment that is synonymous with SSL, it must be the SSL Bus Compressor. From the very first commercially released SSL 4000B console in 1976 and through many generations of SSL consoles that have followed, the Bus Compressor has always been the stalwart of the console centre section. For many of the world’s top engineers and producers, the Bus Compressor continues to be the most relied upon processing tool for making mixes sound bigger and more complete, with drive and energy from adding that legendary SSL glue and punch.
4K E
The 4K E Plug-in is the definitive software emulation of the 4000E console channel strip, authentically recreating the sound, processing and workflow of one of the most highly regarded and influential music production tools in history. Released in 1979, the 4000E console played a pivotal role in reshaping the way music was made. Its big, punchy sound, advanced processing tools and ground-breaking flexibility meant it quickly became the tool of choice for the world's top studios. The 4000E console dominated the studio landscape through the ‘80s &’90s and became the sonic signature of the era's most iconic albums and tracks, with many producers and engineers considering the console a major influence on the evolution of ‘modern’ production techniques and the sound of contemporary music.
4K B
4K B: Full of tone, punch and rich non-linear analogue character, the 4K B is a detailed emulation of the legendary SL 4000 console B channel strip. The iconic sound of the SL 4000 B console is synonymous with records that emerged from London’s famous Townhouse Studio 2, the ‘Stone Room’ in the late 70’s, early 80’s.
Channel Strip 2
Developed from our digital modelling of the renowned XL 9000K console, SSL Channel Strip 2 gives you everything you need to get that radio-ready, modern SSL sound in your DAW. SSL plug-ins are the only plug-ins designed by the team of SSL engineers at HQ in Oxford, with exclusive access to the original data sheets and specifications from which the consoles were made.
Bus Compressor 2
The centre section compressor from SSL’s 1980’s G Series analogue console is an audio production legend. It is the secret behind countless classic recordings. Bus Compressor 2 Plug-in boasts a host of enhancements, including new Attack, Release and Compression ratios for added flexibility with individual sounds and subgroups, in addition to inbuilt wet/dry and S/C HPF control, as well as switchable 2x and 4x Oversampling.
SSL 360° Link
360 Link takes your SSL hybrid workflow to the next level, allowing you to control any 3rd party plug-in from the UC1 surface. Delivered through a streamlined user interface and designed with intuitive setup features, SSL 360 Link lets you effortlessly start dropping 3rd party plug-ins into your session and control them with the advanced ‘console-style’ workflow that UC1 offers. Whilst UC1 is optimized for Channel Strip layout plug-ins, SSL 360 Link can be mapped to any plug-in, from a parametric EQ to a reverb, anything can be mapped to UC1 using 360 Link.
Delivered through a streamlined user interface and designed with intuitive setup features, SSL 360 Link lets you quickly start dropping third-party plug-ins into your session and control them with the advanced ‘console-style’ workflow that UC1 offers. Any third-party plug-ins mapped via 360 Link become visible in the Plug-in Mixer (also controllable from UF1 and UF8) alongside 4K E, 4K B and CS2, integrating them further into the virtual SSL console workflow.
SSL Meter
An essential set of metering tools meticulously designed to tackle audio challenges, ensure consistency and deliver impactful mixes. Featuring measurements of Peak and RMS levels, phase coherence, stereo balance and frequency content, SSL Meter equips you with measurements for crafting top-notch mixes efficiently and effectively.
